Geliefde broeders en zusters in Christus,
Pinksteren is het hoogfeest van de Heilige Geest, het feest waarop Gods heilsplan tot volle bloei komt. Wat begon met de menswording van de Zoon in de stal van Bethlehem en zijn voltooiing vond in het lijden, sterven en verrijzen van de Heer, wordt op Pinksteren tot leven gebracht in ons: de Kerk, het Lichaam van Christus.
Op Paasmorgen werd de dood overwonnen: Christus is waarlijk verrezen! Maar die overwinning zou slechts herinnering blijven, als de Geest van de Verrezene niet was uitgestort op de leerlingen.
