Pelgrim van hoop zijn
Het thema pelgrim van hoop herinnert ons eraan dat geloof geen bezit is, maar een weg. We zijn allemaal onderweg, zoekend naar licht, verlangend naar vrede.

Beste parochianen,
In het boek Genesis horen we hoe Abraham een stem ontvangt: “Trek weg uit uw land... naar het land dat Ik u zal wijzen” (Gen. 12,1) Het is een oproep die alles van hem vraagt. Abraham weet niet waarheen, kent de weg niet, maar vertrouwt de Gever van de belofte. Hij zet zijn eerste stap, niet omdat hij zeker is van zichzelf, maar omdat hij gelooft dat God met hem meegaat.

Ook wij staan aan het begin van een kalenderjaar, een nieuwe weg. Het leven vraagt ons soms om los te laten, om opnieuw te beginnen, om stappen te zetten die onzeker of moeilijk lijken.
In deze donkere wintermaanden, op weg naar Kerstmis, worden we opnieuw uitgenodigd om — net als Abraham — mensen van vertrouwen te zijn. Kerstmis vertelt ons dat God niet op afstand blijft, maar dat Hij zelf een pelgrim wordt in onze kwetsbare wereld. Hij komt nabij in een Kind dat geen thuis vindt, een Kind dat ons leert dat God te vinden is in eenvoud, in kwetsbaarheid en in elke stap die wij in vertrouwen zetten.
